Granny's Sugar Cookies

1 cup shortening or 1/2 margarine and 1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup sour cream
5 cup cake flour
2 tsp baking power
1 1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla to sour cream. Sift flour, baking power, baking soda, and salt. Alternate sour cream and flour mixtures to shortening. Chill thoroughly.

Roll out and cut with cutters. Use cake flour to keep cutters from sticking.

Bake at 375 for 10 to 15 minutes. Frost with colored frosting.

Keep in an air tight container.
